Our team of trained and experienced counsellors provide one to one counselling in a variety of contexts. This covers a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, relationship issues and more.
Some of our clients are seen through the NHS, subject to eligibility; other clients can be seen privately. Companies and organisations can also contract with us for counselling services. This enables us to offer a holistic and bespoke service focused on the specific needs of each individual client or organisation.
For more information, to refer a client or to refer yourself, phone or text 07856277028, or email contact@springtolife.org Please be aware we have a waiting list, which in Autumn 2025 is currently around 16 weeks for NHS counselling. Phone between 10am - 4pm Mon - Fri. Counselling is mainly through video calls, or a limited number of face to face appointments in GP surgeries.
If you need urgent help please contact your GP, call NHS 111 or 999, or go to your hospital A and E for help. The Samaritans helpline number is 116 123.
Spring to Life offers psychological therapies through the NHS Talking Therapies programme to people in Birmingham, in collaboration with the Living Well Consortium. This is free of charge subject to eligibility.
Over the years of delivering this service, the recovery rate (which is the measure of significant improvement following therapy) assigned to our clients has shown consistently positive results thanks to our IAPT trained counsellors' input. Our latest 2024-25 figures show a Reliably Improved rate of 79% which is well above the national average.
We continue to look for ways to improve the service we offer both as an organisation and by investing in our therapists' skills and development.
Feedback from some of our clients after having counselling with us:
quite literally I wouldn’t be here without your intervention
These sessions started a change in my mind set. I am now taking responsibility for my own actions. For the
first time I can see a future. You did not talk at me but listened and I felt important.
The EMDR has been very effective and I no longer am tormented by constant nightmares about work and being bullied and the flashbacks are quite rare.
My therapist was very knowledgeable and experienced and allowed me to understand my issues more and promote better ways to deal with things.
This helped me to feel heard and learn the steps to getting better.
transformative: life has changed from grey into colour, I can hear the birds singing now, I can feel fully, I can dance, I feel alive
I now know who I am and I don’t need to pretend to be who I’m not
